No, Make Ready does not rent or loan firearms to students. In Pistol 101 and Carbine 101 we provide firearms for you to handle in the classroom, because those classes have no live fire at all. Full refunds are available for cancellations made more than 14 days before the class start date. Cancellations made between 14 days and 5 days out are eligible for a credit toward a future Make Ready course rather than a refund. Pistol Essentials is the next step after Pistol 101, and Carbine Essentials is the next step after Carbine 101. Our training runs in two mirrored tracks that differ only by platform. The 101 class is a six hour foundation with no live fire, Essentials is an eight hour beginner class that adds live fire on the range, and Next Level Pistol or Next Level Carbine is the tier above that. You can also book a private session if you would rather work one on one.

Those classes have no live fire, so no firearm, ammunition, holster, or eye and ear protection is required, and we provide the firearms students handle in class. Each Introduction to Firearms class is built around one platform. Pistol 101 covers handguns and Carbine 101 covers AR-15 style rifles, so you get focused instruction on the gun you actually plan to use instead of a broad overview of both. You will learn how that firearm functions, safe handling, loading and unloading, basic shooting fundamentals, ammunition types and calibers, how to store that firearm, and how to choose your first firearm with purpose and confidence. We do not cover legal considerations, because we are not attorneys.
